A staffing company that became a technology company.
In 2016, Jan, Daniel, and Benjamin were running a staffing company in Vienna. They kept building internal tools to fix their own workflows. After a year and a half, the realization hit: the technology was more valuable than the placements.

Jan Jedlinski
LinkedInJan grew up inside the staffing industry. He started working short-term gigs in hospitality as a teenager, moved into staffing operations, and never left. That firsthand experience across every layer of the business is what drives how Candidately is built: for real workflows, not theoretical ones.

Benjamin Bartakovics
LinkedInBenjamin came up through Deloitte and Accenture before going full founder. He studied finance and business in London and Hong Kong, built his first app at the age of 17, and has spent the last decade turning that technical instinct into staffing products used by thousands of agencies.

LinkedInDaniel brings 10+ years of design experience in staffing tech, trained across Vienna, St. Petersburg, and CalArts. His focus has always been the same: understand the recruiter's real workflow first, then build around it. At Candidately, that means every product decision starts with the people who use it.

Fully Remote
Built across four continents
The team is fully remote, spread across Vienna, Boston, Mumbai, and Buenos Aires. We gather once a year in a different location around the world for an all-hands meetup.

Vienna
Three founders start a staffing company placing students into hospitality and promotion jobs. They keep building internal tools to fix their own workflows.
2017
Y Combinator S17
Accepted into Y Combinator. Moved to San Francisco. Launched Gustav, a sub-vendor marketplace for the staffing industry.
2018-21
Gustav grows
5,000+ staffing firms join the platform. Deep integrations with Bullhorn and JobDiva. Over $4M raised from Y Combinator, Speedinvest, Beenext, Bullhorn Ventures, and Jawed Karim.
2022
Exit
Gustav acquired by Fuse Cooperative after facilitating 500,000+ candidate shares between firms. The founding team starts building Candidately.
2023-now
Candidately

Community
The World Staffing Summit
While building products, the team also built community. The World Staffing Summit has grown into the largest virtual gathering of staffing leaders in the world. Running annually since 2021, the Summit brings together thousands of agency owners, operators, and technology leaders for five days of sessions, panels, and networking.
The Summit also hosts the annual World Staffing Awards, recognizing the top staffing companies to work for and the top staffing leaders to watch. The event is free to attend, which reflects something about how the founding team thinks: build the community first, and the business follows.

Our Belief
Staffing firms deserve better tools
The staffing industry generates hundreds of billions of dollars in annual revenue globally. But much of its core infrastructure still runs on email, spreadsheets, and outdated workflows. Candidately exists because we believe staffing firms deserve the same caliber of digital tools that exist in e-commerce, fintech, and SaaS.
Not a replacement for the recruiter. An augmentation. The AI surfaces the candidates. The recruiter makes the call.
