FAQ
Common questions about the directory
Common questions about the World Staffing Directory and the people behind it.
What is the World Staffing Directory?
The World Staffing Directory is the staffing industry's own professional directory. It brings together the recruiters, staffing firms, and technology providers that shape how talent gets placed around the world. Unlike generic business directories, every profile here belongs to someone actively working in staffing and recruitment, which makes it the most focused place to find and be found by the people who run this industry.
What are the World Staffing Summit Awards?
The World Staffing Summit Awards are an annual, community-voted recognition programme honouring the best staffing companies to work for, staffing leaders to watch, and top recruiters to watch. Running since 2022, the awards have recognised nearly 400 companies, close to 400 leaders, and over 100 top recruiters across four editions. Winners and nominees are voted on by the staffing community itself, not selected by a panel, which makes the recognition genuinely peer-driven.
How do I get nominated for a WSS Award?
Anyone in the staffing industry can nominate a colleague, a company, or themselves. Nominations open each year ahead of the World Staffing Summit and take less than a minute. You choose a category, enter the nominee's details, and optionally include a short reason why they deserve recognition. Each person can submit up to three nominations per cycle. Once nominated, the community votes to decide the winners.
Who belongs in this directory?
Recruiters, staffing leaders, agency owners, staffing and recruiting firms of any size, and the technology companies that power them. If you place talent, manage recruiters, run a staffing business, or build tools for the industry, this is where your peers will look for you. The directory spans every vertical, from healthcare and IT staffing to engineering, light industrial, and executive search.
Is there a cost to be listed?
No. Listing your profile is free, and it stays free. There are no premium tiers, no sponsored placements, and no pay-to-rank. A five-person boutique agency gets the same visibility as a global staffing firm. The directory exists to connect the industry, not to monetise it.
Why should I care about having a profile here?
Because this is where the staffing industry looks. Your profile gets its own public page, indexed by Google, linked from blog articles, cross-referenced with WSS speaker sessions, and visible to anyone browsing by industry, region, or specialisation. For award winners and nominees, the directory is also where your recognition lives permanently. It is not a social feed that disappears. It is a professional record that compounds over time.
What shows up on my profile?
For individuals: your name, headline, bio, location, LinkedIn, the industries you serve, regions you cover, and your recruitment focus areas. For companies: specialisations, headquarters, team size, key contacts, and the regions you operate in. Award winners and nominees also display their WSS badges and rankings. You decide what to include and can update your profile at any time.
How is this different from LinkedIn?
LinkedIn is a general professional network with over a billion profiles across every industry. The World Staffing Directory is built exclusively for staffing. Every single profile belongs to a recruiter, a staffing firm, or a staffing technology provider. There is no algorithm deciding who sees you, no feed burying your profile, and no recruiter from an unrelated industry cluttering the results. When someone searches here, they are looking specifically for staffing professionals.
I won or was nominated for a WSS Award. How do I find my profile?
If you have been recognised through the World Staffing Summit Awards, you already have a presence in the directory. Browse the people or company sections, or search your name. From there, you can claim your profile by verifying your email, which lets you edit your details, add your bio, and make sure your award badges display correctly. Claimed profiles also show a verified badge so visitors know you have taken ownership.
How do people discover profiles in the directory?
Visitors can browse by category: staffing professionals, recruiting firms, or technology providers. From there they can filter by industry, region, and specialisation to find exactly who they are looking for. Award winners and featured profiles are highlighted, but every listing is fully searchable. Profiles also rank in external search engines, so people can find you through Google without even visiting the directory first.
